Bhavna Sangal is a public health professional with an MSc in International Health from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany, where her thesis involved developing a mixed-multilevel regression model on community health data from South Africa. Prior to her current role, she was a volunteer researcher at the University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Population Health, where she conducted a scoping review on AI applications in antimicrobial resistance surveillance and tried to develop neural network models for WHO GLASS data. She has represented India at the WHO Geneva headquarters during an international consultation on Case Based Surveillance and Patient Monitoring Systems. Her career spanning over 12 years includes collaboration with major international agencies — CDC India, UNAIDS, WHO, UNICEF, and FHI 360 — primarily during her tenure at the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), where she managed HIV care and treatment programmes across North India and contributed to national HIV surveillance and estimations. She has also worked with AIIMS New Delhi on an ICMR-CDC collaborative Influenza Vaccine Trial and a UNICEF-supported neonatal mortality study. She has four peer-reviewed publications in international journals and eight national reports to her credit.
